Screen Colors
This report details the most common screen colors (bit depth) used by browsers visiting your site for a selected reporting period (Week, Month, Quarter). Site Measurement groups screen colors into the standard range of bit depths. If a browser visiting your site reveals a screen color setting that is not listed in the standard range of bit depths, these browsers will be reported as "Unknown bit". Webmasters will find this report important to optimizing site design.
Java Support
Operating System & Version
This report identifies the operating system (OS) used by each visiting browser. The result "Other" represents browsers that indicate an operating system Site Measurement does not recognize (such as an older operating system or a hand held device). The result "Unknown" indicates browsers that do not reflect an associated operating system. Use this metric to optimize your site when designing software for download, running certain applications or looking to tailor your site to a certain platform.
Cookie Support
Many Internet browser types provide users with the option of disabling their browser's ability to store cookies on their computers. This report displays the percentage of a client's browsers that support and do not support cookies in proportion to the number of all browsers visiting the site. Use this report to make informed decisions regarding site design and whether or not to use cookies actively with your audience.
JavaScript Support
Almost all Internet browser types provide users the option of either enabling or disabling JavaScript. This report details the percentage of browsers visiting your Web site that support JavaScript. Webmasters will find this report essential to making informed decisions regarding site design.
Java Support
This report details the percentage of browsers that visit a site that support or do not support Java. The result "Unknown" indicates browsers that do not reflect whether or not they support Java. Webmasters will find this report important to optimizing site design.
Screen Resolution
This report details the most common screen resolution settings used by browsers visiting your site for a selected reporting period (Week, Month, Quarter). Site Measurement groups screen resolution results into the standard range of widths (in pixels). If a browser visiting your site reveals a screen resolution setting that is not listed in the standard range of widths, these browsers will be reported as "Unknown". Although the dominant screen resolution setting is 800x600 pixels, improving monitor technology is allowing users to select a range of high and low resolution settings depending on their preferences. Web site designers can use this report to ensure their Web site is optimally formatted for the majority of visiting browser screens.
Protocol
This report details the protocol used by visiting browsers. Results are either HTTP 1.0 or 1.1.
Proxy Access
This report breaks down exactly how many page impressions are served out of proxy servers ("Yes") as opposed to those served directly from a client's own Web servers ("No"). The information contained in this report is vital for infrastructure capacity planning and site optimization decisions. See the "Proxy Sever Breakdown" report.
Proxy Server Breakdown
This report is most effectively understood when read in conjunction with the "Proxy Access" report. For all "Yes" results from the "Proxy Access" report, this report details the actual proxy server that delivered the pages requested by a browser during a selected reporting period (Week, Month, Quarter). The result "Other" represents a Proxy Server that Site Measurement does not recognize. The result "Unknown" indicates browsers that do not reflect an associated Proxy Server. The information contained in this report is vital for infrastructure capacity planning and site optimization decisions.
